At CAM TESOL the largest TESOL conference in Asia, Antonio Graceffo presents his research and theories regarding the importance of listening in the acquisition of a foreign language. The paper, “Listening: The Most Important But Least Taught Skill” is part of the many stages of research and publishing Antonio hopes will eventually lead to his doctoral dissertation.

One of the many concepts covered in the presentation is ALG, Automatic Language Growth, which Antonio has written and presented on in the past. His research has now expanded to cover the benefits of extensive listening and to parallel extensive listening with extensive reading, as they are both input skills.
Brooklyn Monk, Antonio Graceffo is a lecturer at Shanghai University (SILC, UTS). He has published extensively in journals and magazines in the field of second-language acquisition. A consummate student of languages, he has studied 9 languages, at schools and universities in Vietnam, Taiwan, China, Germany, Spain, Costa Rica, Thailand, and Cambodia.
A martial arts and adventure author living in Asia. He is the author of the books, “Warrior Odyssey’ and “The Monk from Brooklyn.” He is also the host of the web TV show, “Martial Arts Odyssey,” which traces his ongoing journey through Asia, learning martial arts in various countries.
