???????? ???????? ???????? SONY DSCThe ALG, Automatic Growth Method is now being used to teach Khmer to foreigners at LINK, Language Institute of Natural Khmer, in Phnom Penh. Antonio Graceffo is very excited about this first, successful attempt to export the ALG method from its home at AUA, Bangkok, where it is used to teach Thai, now ALG has come to a new country and a new language.

ALG is a listening-based language learning methodology which approximates the way a child learns his native tongue, by listening. The method was invented by American linguist, Dr. J. Marvin Brown. The methodology echoes much of Stephen Krashen’s comprehensible input and is related to earlier natural language acquisition theories. Students sit in class and lesson for 800 hours before they begin to speak.
