The event was highly significant because it was the first time the Cambodian Bokator team ever fought outside of Cambodia and the first time they ever participated in MMA. In Cambodia, they practice traditional Bokator which includes kick boxing and grappling, but the style had to be adjusted for MMA competition.

Antonio owes his victory to both, the years of Bokator training as well as a month of intensive modern MMA training, sponsored by K-1 Fight Factory Phnom Penh and Team Minetti.

Even participating was a great victory for the Khmer team as they were able to bring their art to the world. The whole team, including Antonio, plans to continue training and fighting MMA.
